For Our People. For Our Future.

In this featured interview, Splatsin Community Members are invited to hear directly from Kukpi7 Mike Christian as he reflects on leadership, community priorities, past accomplishments, and the vision guiding the work ahead.

Building on Our Progress, Together.

Waytk! As your Kukpi7, I’ve spent the past two years focused on rebuilding trust, strengthening unity, and creating real opportunities for Splatsin members. Together, we’ve made tremendous progress — restoring accountability in our administration, revitalizing our development corporation, and setting Splatsin on a stronger path of prosperity and growth.

But our journey is far from over. I’m seeking re-election this January to continue the work we’ve started — advancing housing and infrastructure, supporting education and childcare, improving health services, and expanding employment and business opportunities for our people.

We’ve shown that when we move forward together, we accomplish more than ever before. Let’s keep that momentum going — for our Elders, our youth, and all generations of Splatsin

Real Progress for Our People

In the past two years, Kukpi7 Mike Christian has led Splatsin with purpose and integrity — rebuilding trust, restoring accountability, and driving real results for the community.

Under his leadership, Splatsin achieved a landmark victory with the R.W. Bruhn Bridge negotiations, a peaceful and strategic protest that led to direct agreements and renewed respect for Splatsin’s role as a regional partner.

Mike also restructured Splatsin Development Corporation (SDC), cutting inefficiencies and reigniting economic growth. With a renewed focus on accountability and opportunity, SDC has expanded local employment, increased Indigenous representation in leadership roles, and laid the foundation for long-term community prosperity.

Across the community, his leadership has guided housing renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and the expansion of fibre optic networks, improving daily life and communication. His advocacy at the provincial and federal levels continues to advance Splatsin’s boundaries, land rights, and self-reliance.

Above all, Mike’s vision is one of unity, opportunity, and accountability — building a stronger future for Elders, youth, and generations to come.
